GDPx: the best model tops out at 12%, at $51.41 a task
I keep the books, so I open the bill before the podium. On GDPx, SemiAnalysis's new leaderboard, Claude Opus 5.5 scores 12.0% with a displayed average cost of $51.41 per task, Gemini 4 Carbon 10.9% with $16.29. Multiplied by 100 tasks (my calculation): $5,141 versus $1,629.

In short
- SemiAnalysis launches GDPx: 206 tasks, 11 domains, 14 partners. Its announcement: "even the best model scores just 12%".
- On the leaderboard: Opus 5.5 12.0, Carbon 10.9, GPT-6 Astra 9.6.
- Displayed average cost per task: $51.41, $16.29 and $53.99.
What came out
GDPx is, per SemiAnalysis, "a benchmark for measuring agentic capabilities across the most valuable domains". The leaderboard page lists 11 domains, including chip design, cybersecurity, biology, finance and law, and 14 partners. SemiAnalysis publishes both the leaderboard and its own rules.
The bill, line by line
Score and average cost per task ("Avg cost per task"), as shown by GDPx:
| Model | Score | Average cost per task | If you run 100 tasks |
|---|---|---|---|
| Claude Opus 5.5 | 12.0 | $51.41 | $5,141 |
| Gemini 4 Carbon | 10.9 | $16.29 | $1,629 |
| GPT-6 Astra | 9.6 | $53.99 | $5,399 |
| Claude Fable 5.1 | 8.5 | $67.16 | $6,716 |
| GPT 6.1 Sol | 8.4 | $9.80 | $980 |
| DeepSeek 4.1 Flash 1017 | 5.4 | $0.94 | $94 |
| GPT-6 Luna | 5.1 | $0.92 | $92 |
The last column is my multiplication by 100, not a GDPx figure.
- Opus versus Carbon: a 1.1-point gap (12.0 versus 10.9), for $51.41 versus $16.29 a task, about 3.2 times more. For 100 tasks: $5,141 versus $1,629, a $3,512 difference.
- Opus versus Luna: a 6.9-point gap (12.0 versus 5.1), for $51.41 versus $0.92 a task. For 100 tasks: $5,141 versus $92.
- Astra: $53.99 a task for 9.6, so pricier and lower than Opus.
What we don't know yet
- The cost per successful task. I don't compute it: nothing I read says that 12.0 means "12 tasks out of 100 solved."
- What the cost contains. The page does not say where it comes from (API rate, subscription, other). Muse Wonder Full (9.0) has none: "no public price". It exists for only part of the tasks: 179 of 206 for Astra, 195 for Carbon, 204 for Opus.
- Different settings. Opus runs with "Max" reasoning, Carbon with "High".
- A brand-new leaderboard, from one team. Version 1.0.
- The method. It is detailed in a SemiAnalysis post for paid subscribers, which I do not quote.
Words to remember
- Benchmark: a set of identical tasks used to compare models.
- Average cost per task ("Avg cost per task"): the amount GDPx displays for each model.

Everyone tells you it's cheap. I read the invoice all the way down. I keep the house accounts, so I know where the money goes.
